Advanced Multiday Packrafting Course Bavarian Forest

For anyone looking for a rustic wilderness experience on their doorstep and interested in multiday packrafting with whitewater, we offer this extraordinary tour. If you have previous experience in multiday tours, are already quite comfortable in whitewater eddies, and want more of the same, come with us to the spring-like Bavarian Forest.

Here we combine whitewater packrafting and multiday packrafting, which is a rare combination outside of distant expeditions and one that is greatly appreciated by our repeat participants. The film of the 2019 premiere, created by one of the participants, shows better than words what it means to be there. Whether it's the snow shown there or the T-shirt weather of other years: every tour is different and each one is unique.

"LWA is always good for a surprise. And one week before Easter, there were four big Easter eggs. Four days packed with untouched nature, whitewater, dark forests, snow, campfires, and surprising moments again and again. Date 2026 and costs

Booking status BayerWald-2026, April 9 - 12 April (Thursday-Sunday): Reserve

Participation fee: €629
The participation fee is based on the small number of participants we can take on this course, as well as the high level of preparation and logistics involved. As we only run this extraordinary tour with these special conditions once a year, the costs for the entire organization are covered by just one tour per year.

Packraft equipment rental: €140
For an additional charge of €80, we offer the rental of a packraft with an internal storage system (CargoFly or ISS) including matching storage bags.

Safety equipment rental: €60

The rental costs for packraft equipment are slightly higher for multi-day courses, as this type of course places above-average demands on the rental equipment and requires more time-consuming preparation and follow-up work.

You can use your own suitable packrafting equipment, in which case the rental fee will be waived.

Participation requirements

This course is an advanced multiday course and requires prior knowledge and skills in both multiday packrafting and whitewater packrafting. The following are suitable for preparation:

Multiday Packrafting Course Hunsrück (4 days)
Whitewater Packrafting Courses Alps (Tyrol/Alpine foothills) (3, 4, 6, or 9 days)
Whitewater packrafting courses Slovenia (4 days or 5 days)

For those with previous experience, participation is possible after personal discussion, even without a preparatory course. When signing up, please provide as much detail as possible about your previous private packrafting/kayaking/canoeing/outdoor tours or any previous participation in relevant courses.

Feasibility and conduct

The conduct of the course in the Bavarian Forest depends on the water level and the legal situation.

In the event of severe drought in spring or a winter with little snow and resulting low water levels on the streams, navigation is not feasible and is not sustainable for nature conservation reasons. If the rivers are flooded during the course period, navigation is not possible for safety reasons. The legal situation on the rivers we navigate may change according to the current status, meaning that significant sections are no longer navigable. In the cases described, we reserve the right to cancel the course at short notice.

Under less than ideal but feasible conditions, we reserve the right to adjust the tour itinerary accordingly—the course content will remain unaffected. Portages or sectional towing may be necessary.

We handle international or non-German-speaking bookings personally to guarantee a smooth booking process. Please contact us through the form below if you wish to book a participation with arrival from outside Germany or if you are a non-German-speaker. We will be glad to have you on board.

All our courses, trainings and expeditions are open to non-German-speakers. We are proud to host international crowds and guide people of all languages through waves and trails. Our guides are fluent in English, some of them in Spanish and our backoffice is fluent in English and partly in Dutch.
